IS LEARNING ONLINE SUFFICIENT?

Learning is the basic necessity and right of everyone. Learning basically is the key to ultimate success in one’s life. When one starts with learning at the basic elementary stage in one’s life, he/she used to be actually nothing in his/her personality, thoughts, ideas and emotional constraints. But as soon as when one starts studying; he/she starts learning new things with moral values as well. Learning impacts a person’s life very much. Accompanied with learning, comes good thoughts and pleasing behavior of a person. Learning with education comes with development of any kid, the most.

But due to the ongoing pandemic situation, everything is just shut. One feels afraid while going out of house, even for the basic needs. Everything has just locked inside the doors and hence the education too is shut.

Starting from the schools to the coaching and private institutes, personal tuitions, all are just shut. The situation at once seemed to be the way that everything has just got shut down very hard. But our education system resumed the learning of the students with the idea of online learning, a year ago.

A year ago, students used to study online just for the revision purpose only. But now e-learning has just become a part of their daily routine. The coaching institutes are also shut and hence the cause has made the students to switch towards the online mode.

Various schools, colleges and government institutions are providing online learning to the students. But the thought that appear here is whether these institutions can replace the system of education that the physical mode, once used to provide.

The question that comes here in between is that because we have switched everything on online mode, would it be able to give that satisfaction of studies to the students and the same reliability to their parents that they once used to get in physical mode?

Everyone in his/her life has the ‘RIGHT TO EDUCATION’ under INDIAN CONSTITUTION. This right under our Constitution gives the opportunity and right to education and learning for all. But there lies no clause which can claim the quality of education being provided to the students, in such case it becomes the duty of parents, teachers and guardian to do the work of selecting one of the best institutions for their ward’s studies with the best education.

Since we are now talking of the online learning, now the question comes to mind is the online learning sufficient for the students??

The answer to this question can be justified by giving the example of two sides of a coin. The first side is the one which can answer the question with a YES and the other is that which can answer the same with NO.

An elaborative discussion for both can start with the fact that online classes are on the virtual mode which lacks the physical presence of students with teachers and hence the problem of lack of proper governance comes in between the two sides.

Because students are not physically present in class, hence one-to-one guidance to each and every student of the class becomes a challenging task for the teacher. Teachers and various private coaching have started their batches for the online learning of the students. But the problem that comes is that in the batches there are many students at once which make students difficult to ask doubts from the teacher. Also, it becomes difficult for the teacher to answer doubts of every student. Lack of one-to-one attention is also there. There comes a communication gap between teachers and students and hence create hindrance in the studies of students.

One of the most important things in a class is the open discussions; these discussions are one of the important parts of leaning system where students get the opportunity to broaden their mind and to develop their skills better. In online learning, it becomes difficult to conduct such discussions. Network issues are one of the problems that arise via studying online due to which the classes get affected. One of the ways to keep a check on student’s studies is to conduct evaluation test. But now, in online class it has become challenging to evaluate students in the best ways as earlier.

The thing which we all will agree with is that our atmosphere too reflects our interest for things. As because, the environment of houses is not the same as that of the classes, hence that same interest is challenging to be taken in the online mode as well. So lack of proper focus and interest also become one of the problems.

But due to scenario, we all are going through, it will be a better option for us to adopt these new methods for our learning and education.

Online learning systems are not a messy or a bad thing to adopt. It is just like these systems are a bit different for us to get used to. Once we all get comfortable with the online system of learning, we all will be able to adjust ourselves with the same.

Little more focus with a bit more dedication, can help the students gain interest in the online classes. One more fact is that if the teacher takes all the students friendly while teaching, this will make students to take more interest. If the teacher takes classes in small batches of around 10–15 students, the one-to-one attention to the students would be given much easily. Students will also pay more attention while studying. If the teachers prepare, the evaluation material, in more of different ways than usual; the evaluation would be done more precisely.

If teachers and students take the things more seriously and pay more attention towards what is taught and what has learnt, the learning would not be that much difficult in this mode too. The things will also work out very smoothly and easily.

E-learning is not a very big task. It’s like one has to first accept how and what the things are happening and then just has to accept them in their ways. The desire to study is the most important thing; if one has the same in life then nothing can stop someone from learning.
